Not everyone yet understands the special care that companies must take when handling sensitive data.

Any data relating to a person’s health, gender, political and religious affiliation is considered sensitive data and must follow specific rules.

It is interesting to note that the GDPR (Europe’s “LGPD”, so to speak), although it prohibits the processing of sensitive data, establishes some exceptions, such as data made public by the data subject.

However, since the LGPD did not address this possibility, it is important that companies adapt and take all necessary precautions when handling sensitive data of their employees and customers.
